Crabbe Tribute Evening song list for Friday 31 May 2024 🎵
Dear Members,
The special tribute evening in memory of Crabbe is now arranged for Friday 31 May.
You're welcome to perform one of the wonderful songs or poems that Crabbe performed -- or one that you perform that Crabbe enjoyed.
Crabbe Song List
Nicky writes:
Dear All,
These are the songs I remember hearing issuing from the Wet Rehearsal Room of a morning. I have left off the various Bob Dylan songs plus Nessun Dorma, Ar hyd y Nos and Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Land of my Fathers)!
Less water is used of a morning in the Neville-Lee Household now, except when grandsons visit.
It is difficult to pick out a poem or two but I always enjoyed The Rolling English Road by G.K. Chesterton and Roundabouts and Swings by Patrick R. Chalmers.
I know Crabbe really enjoyed his collaboration with Chris on the last CD they made during lockdown. I hadn't heard the poem he wrote until Chris gave me a copy.
See you all in May, after I have taken a train trip (!) to Cornwall with my grandson.
Love,
Nicky
Nicky brought Crabbe's books & CDs to the club on Friday 26/4/2024, and so far the following songs and poems have been 'spoken for':
Here is Nicky's list of songs, excluding the above - but you may think of others (eg The Apprentice's Song, The Exmoor Hunt Song)
Please let us know your choice by e-mail to info@somers-folk-club.org.uk, thanks
Hope to see you all soon!
Eleanor
